Vinyl warriors will party like iTunes never happened when the needle drops on Record Store Day next weekend.

Sadly there are no independent record stores in the Falkirk area in these dark days for those who still like the physical activity of placing an LP on a turntable, or even slotting home a CD.

So people will have to travel across to the “city” of Stirling and the stacked shelves of Europa Music in Friars Street, to enjoy Record Store Day celebrations on Saturday,
April 18.

A store spokesbloke said: “We’ve got a packed day of exclusive new releases, live performances and general merriment planned.”

Exclusive new releases include titles from Biffy Clyro, The 1975, The White Stripes, The Who, T-Rex and David Bowie.

The shop will also host live performances by a wide range of bands, including Scottish folk group RURA, Texas swing outfit The Precious Penny Pluckers, folk rockers ‘When Weapons Don’t Work’, blues masters The Canary Trap and punk popsters Crashing
