Renowned Scottish actor David Hayman is bringing his Edinburgh Festival show to Bo’ness’ Barony Theatre next week for a two-night run.
The 66-year-old Glaswegian of ‘Trial and Retribution’ fame will be fine-tuning his Fringe production ‘Pitiless Storm’ about Scotland’s referendum in the unique theatre he has come to love following a performance there in 2011.
Hayman plays Bob Cunningham, a devoted trade unionist who is enduring a crisis of conscience as he questions his political and moral beliefs as the country faces a quantum leap in its political history.
The left-winger has devoted his life to the party he loves but is forced by voices of the past and his conscience to re-evaluate everything he holds dear.
A widower with an estranged son, Cunningham makes a decision that may change his life.
The West End and Hollywood star previously trod the Barony’s boards three years ago in a sell-out performance of ‘Six and a Tanner’.
‘Pitiless Storm’ is running on Sunday and Monday, July 27-28 at the theatre in Borrowstoun Road at 7.30 p.m. Tickets (including a glass of wine) are £12 and £10 (con). Call 01506 822953 to book.
