Sit back, relax and let your kids run wild in Monster Mania’s massive play area

What is it? If you’re looking for somewhere to entertain the kids then soft play areas are certainly among the most popular, with Falkirk’s Monster Mania probably the biggest around.

What’s in it? There’s loads for the kids to do and you can really put your feet up, read your book or have a blether with friends while they entertain themselves. The soft play area is massive, certainly the largest I’ve seen in the central belt, with separate sections for younger kids and older children. There’s a football area, a small bucking bronco, go karts and loads of other slides, ropes and obstacles. I’ve been to many play areas, but this is the one my daughter always wants to go to.

How long do you get inside? Sessions last for two hours before they call your name when it’s time up.

How much does it cost? New year deals are on at the moment and kids can get in for £3.50 during the week, which is a great bargain given the size of the place and what’s in it. At weekends it’s £4.75 for kids under 1.2m in height and £5.75 over that. However, it can become quite expensive if you need to buy food and drinks because you can’t take your own along. There’s usually a long queue as well. In saying that, the food’s decent and there’s plenty of room to sit comfortably and eat it. You’ll also need money for some of the arcade-type games and the go karts, which the kids love, are £1 a shot.

Does it do anything else? Yes, you can hold a birthday party in one of the party rooms and two new laser rooms are coming soon.

When is it open? Monster Mania is open seven days from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Last entry is at 5 p.m.

Where is it? Monster Mania is at Castle Laurie, Bankside Industrial Estate, Falkirk. It used to be called The Buzz. Contact number is (01324) 617111. There is also a Facebook page which is updated regularly.

Best thing about it? The fact that you can have a wee rest and let the children play and enjoy themselves in a safe environment. I find that it’s really quality time because my daughter is always hyper there, which makes me happy.
