A Falkirk film company has had to book another cinema screen due to demand to see their new gangster flick.
The Last Love Letter – The Red, The Black and the Seductress will premiere at Falkirk Cineworld on November 12 and producers Haggis Westerns has had to add another screen after selling over 500 tickets for the curtain-raiser.
The one hour 55 minute film is the first of a trilogy starring writer and director Simon Jake Gillespie (41), from Brightons, as Steve Brody, a man whose life is falling apart following an affair.
He loses his job, his family and is beginning to lose his friends until stranger John Abbott (Craig Seath) walks into town and offers him and his brother Michael (Barry Frame – also the sound director) a lifeline with a job, however, there is something sinister about the stranger.
The title track was also written by Simon and performed by popular Falkirk singer Dionne Hickey.
The movie has plenty of Falkirk flavour with roles being played by local budding actors and shots in familiar locations. One of the main scenes was in the La Banca restaurant in Vicar Street. Sound man Barry (30), from Denny, has also used the film to ace his dissertation for his Masters degree.
Simon said: “This will be the biggest showing Haggis Western Films has hosted with two screens running the film simultaneously on the same night.”
