Kilted comedian Craig Hill says he’s hoping to get as much as a laugh from his audience this weekend as he hopes they’ll get from him.
The funnyman is appearing at Falkirk Town Hall on Saturday as part of the ‘Give Him An Inch’ tour and following his latest successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
And Craig reckons that what keeps his comedy alive is the interaction with the audience and the completely unpredictable direction of the show.
Speaking to The Falkirk Herald, he said: “During the shows, I like to find the characters.
“I keep a blog of my shows because that way I can remember the people I’ve met and the laughs we had.
“When I was in Falkirk last year, I had a sing off with a music teacher!
“I love meeting these fantastic characters.
“What I do is very off-the-cuff and it’s very unpredictable, and I really enjoy waiting to go on without knowing what’s going to happen.
“I just think, it’s my Saturday night too, let’s go and have a riot.”
Craig still finds fun in everyday events and having a joke at life’s expense.
He said: “I do some singing in the show and I do a parody of ‘Someone Like You’.
“It’s just a more honest, realistic version of what a break-up is like.”
After 24 nights in Edinburgh, Craig says he always feels more confident about taking the show out on tour and visiting some of his favourite places.
He said: “The Fringe was the busiest it has ever been this year.
“It’s a great chance to see what works in a show before taking it out on tour.”
Craig also enjoyed performing at comedy festivals in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide earlier this year as well as featuring on ‘The Best Of Just For Laughs’.
Craig added: “Finding these characters in the audience often produces the most fun part of the show, and it keeps it all exciting because it keeps me on my toes.”
