Two charities stand to benefit from the Rock the Stadium festival after signing an innovative sponsorship deal with the summer event.

Strathcarron Hospice and Maggie’s will earn £10 for each ticket they sell for the pop music spectacular that takes place at The Falkirk Stadium from June 21-23.

Each charity will be selling tickets from its website and are asking members of the public to consider using them if they plan to attend the festival.

Michelle Campbell, fundraising assistant with Maggie’s Forth Valley, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to raise money and work with the club for an event that promises to be a great weekend of entertainment.”

That sentiment was echoed by Angela Gillies, fundraising manager at Strathcarron.

She said: “We have a great working relationship with Falkirk Football Club and we’re pleased that they asked us to get involved in this way.”

Tony Smith, of the Rock the Festival organising committee, said: “These are two great local charities and do fantastic work across the district. The club is always looking for ways in which to help them out.”

The three-day festival will be headlined by Ronan Keating on Friday, features a mixture of classic 1980s pop bands on the Saturday and will be closed by rock legends Status Quo on Sunday.
