A Denny High School Dance Academy graduate has been selected for a prestigious training performance programme.
Rachel Laird is one of just 22 dancers to be offered a place with YDance, Scotland’s national dance organisation for children and young people aged 3 – 21.
She will spend the next four weeks training with top choreographers to create four new contemporary dance works before performing across Scotland in the 2015 Project Y tour.
Anna Kenrick, YDance Artistic director, said: “All 22 dancers selected will be expected to work hard over the next four weeks, adapt to the different working styles of the choreographers, learn and perfect choreography quickly and be able to perform to a high standard night after night during the 2015 Project Y tour.
“Many participants are currently in full time dance training and are completing Project Y during their summer break.
“It’s a tremendous experience for any young dancer who is serious about their development and future career as a dancer.”
