The event had been planned to take place in Callendar Park on Saturday, May 23 following last year’s hugely successful launch, headlined by Feeder.

However, organisers have now taken the decision to postpone the music festival until 2021 – a date for which has still to be confirmed – and are focusing on making next year’s gig “bigger and better”.

Those who bought tickets for this month’s festival will have their briefs rolled over for 2021, while requests for refunds will also be possible.

In a statement, David Ure, who organised the event along with his brother Andy, wrote: We’d like to say a huge thank you for your patience and support while we waited and watched the media and discussed with various key individuals for a small glimmer of hope that we would have a chance to run Vibration Festival in 2020.

Unfortunately we have taken the decision to postpone the festival until 2021. This we believe is the only safe, realistic decision we can make this summer.

For all those who supported what was to be the second instalment of Vibration Festival in front of the stunning Callendar House, we are more than thankful.

The amazing support in our first year was cemented when many jumped at the chance to buy tickets for year two after we launched our tickets last August.

This year was going to be bigger and better as part of our journey to bring a premium music festival to the heart of Central Scotland.

That journey has sadly now been temporarily paused, and like many small businesses, we are currently staring at a very rocky road going forward.

Our self-funded, independent event was the dream of two local brothers who despite the staggering costs of running an event such as this, delivered in 2019 what we visioned.

We hope you can appreciate as a small business the difficulty in ‘shutting the doors’ for a year; heavy start up costs/losses year one, no income year two and big unknown of the impact of Covid-19 on the delivery of future events.

We are however small, resilient and aim to come back with a huge show that everyone will have the chance to come out and party to see what all the fuss was about in 2019 that led to our two industry awards!

While we are sure many of the ticket holders are disappointed, we are planning to turn our attentions to making the 2021 festival even bigger and better again.

All tickets will be automatically rolled over at 2020 prices. This downtime has given us more time to plan so we know over the next year we will definitely be ready to deliver the biggest festival party Central Scotland has seen.

“It would mean the world to Andy, myself, and the team behind Vibration Festival if you kept your ticket and joined us in 2021, as we can’t wait to welcome you back. Retaining the ticket would not just be a great way of supporting a small local company through this tough year, but also help us start the work for 2021 in the strongest possible position financially.

Our plan is to announce the new date (once confirmed) and give ticket holders the following options. Please consider these while we finalise the date for 2021:

Option 1 - Automatically roll over ticket to 2021, retention of full booking fee and any discounts for tickets/tokens given at time of purchase (these will not be guaranteed to be offered on future purchases).

While we cannot confirm the line up, expect it to be of the same standard as we are starting to work hard behind the scenes to make sure it’s at the same level as 2019 & 2020.

Option 2 - Should you not be able to make the revised date in 2021 and wish to request a refund on your 2020 ticket please contact your point of purchase directly to arrange a refund. Please note, the refund will include the face value paid for the ticket as well as any fee for ticket fulfilment.

The booking fee is retained to process the booking and refund. We please ask for patience on these refund requests as this is obviously an exceptional situation and it may take time to manage all the administration.

All refund requests must be received within 30 days of our date announcement. Beyond that, your purchase will automatically carry over to 2021.

The health and happiness of our festival team and all those who attend is the most important thing so please stay safe this summer, keep healthy, stay sane and we will see you next year for the much delayed instalment of Vibration Festival.
