Party at the Palace: ‘Mega star’ could appear at Linlithgow festival, say organisers

The organisers of this year’s Party at the Palace (PATP) have teased fans by claiming a music “mega star” could make an appearance.

Having announced the line-up for the August 8 and 9 festival in Linlithgow this morning, those behind the scenes are hopeful the event will attract large crowds.

With headliners Manic Street Preachers and Manoeuvres in the Dark sure to draw in spectators, organisers have moved to whet fans’ appetite even further ahead of the seventh annual PATP.

Event director John Richardson has revealed a well-known face may be spotted on site.

He told The Falkirk Herald: “We’ve always got a few surprises.

“There are a few people we think might turn up, one being an absolute mega star.

“He has turned up at other events to support his friend’s band.

“Overall we’re absolutely delighted. When we announce the line-up we never know what the reaction is going to be.

“There’s always going to be a few moans and groans but you hope they’re outweighed by excitement, which they seem to have been.

“We’re hopeful the people of Falkirk will come out and enjoy themselves.”
