New Falkirk band Artesan are certainly handy in the musical trade

Influenced by stadium filling outfits like U2, Oasis, Guns ‘n’ Roses, the fledgling Falkirk band has something of a musical and artistic pedigree with a host of “well kent” faces and famous names in the line-up.
Playing hook-laden guitar pop, which verges on indie at times, Artesan is driven by the drumming of Stuart Blackwood – also a veteran guitarist and singer of local renown – and the bass of Dickson Telfer – one of Falkirk’s literary legends.

Hide AdCruising on top of the powerful Blackwood/Telfer engine room are singer Ronnie Bissett – brother of another Falkirk writing giant Alan Bissett – and guitarist Will Treeby.
Now with the addition of guitarist Bryce Bissett, Ronnie’s son, the band are really spanning the decades when it comes to their age range.
An Artesan spokesbloke said: “There are 30 years between our youngest and oldest members, proving age is immaterial when it comes to making music. We released our debut single Feel Like Myself Again in February and it has recently hit 4000 streams on Spotify and has featured on a number of radio shows.”
And the COVID-19 lockdown is not slowing their creative process either, with dad and lad Ronnie and Bryce – who live together – recording a trio of Artesan acoustic tracks for Cumbernauld FM music show Postcards from the Underground.
