Larbert hospital's teen DJ Wee Amy makes big waves on air playing new NHS charity single

A Larbert High School pupil will be the first DJ in the UK to play the new NHS charity single by rock stars Bonnie Tyler and Lorraine Crosby in just a few minute’s time.

Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s Radio Royal presenter Amy Cardno (15), better known to her listeners as Wee Amy, has a real exclusive on her hands when she plays the song I Will Stand By You Through Thick and Thin on her Wee Amy’s Anthems show, which runs from 6pm and 7pm tonight.

Amy, who will enter S5 when the schools go back, said: “They are still working on releasing it on iTunes, but it will be available soon to download and it’s lovely all the proceeds raised will go to the NHS.

The young DJ, who managed to pick up the new NHS single through her “contacts”, has been spinning tunes for patients at FVRH for two years now and she knows her role to proved some top songs and entertainment to patients and staff is vital at this time.

She said: “It’s so important just now, because the hospital is in complete lockdown and patients are not getting any visitors.”
