The annual event, which was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, takes place in the grounds of Linlithgow Palace and in the past has featured acts like Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, James, Texas, Kaiser Chiefs, Lightning Seeds, Mel C, Cast, Gabrielle, Razorlight, Amy Macdonald and a whole host of local and not so local rising stars.

If it does go ahead in 2021 live music fans are in for a real treat since this year’s line-up includes Manic Street Preachers, Del Amitri, Hue and Cry, Space, Sophie Ellis Bextor, The Snuts and Colonel Mustard and the Djon 5.

Thanks to the continuing coronavirus pandemic and the associated restrictions it creates, the odds are definitely stacked against the festival – but that did not stop organisers posting a message of hope and determination on their Facebook page.

It stated: “This time last year, we were busy planning and getting ready to announce who was coming to party with us in the summer. An awful lot has changed in the last 12 months but we are still here and we are still planning.

“While we were disappointed at the news of Glastonbury cancelling, it was to be expected given the months of preparation required to accommodate quarter of a million people.

"We are fortunate we do not need to make any early decision and have been advised that both UK and Scottish governments will be in a better position to advise on summer festivals by late March and into April when the data on the vaccine roll out starts to come in.

"So for just now, our message remains the same – follow the guidelines, stay safe, look after each other and we will see you in the summer. Our commitment to you remains the same.

“We are determined to give PATP it’s best shot for 2021 and if it is not to be, you can roll your tickets over again (at 2020 prices) or request a refund.

“When it is safe do so. We will have the biggest party ever.”
