Call goes out to Falkirk musicians and stand-ups to join in Jasie's online Jam
A Maddiston singer is hosting Sunday afternoon online jam sessions for musicians and comedians to do what they do best and entertain the masses during these dark days of COVID-19.
Jasie Strang hopes as many people as possible will take part in her jam, which runs from 4pm every Sunday
She said: “A lot of people don’t like social media, but its actually quite good, offering a wee bit of entertainment instead of watching the telly and all the bad stuff that’s on it all the time. And there are no clubs or pubs open so entertainers can only put on shows over the internet at the moment.
“Any musician, or comedian or anyone else who wants to entertain people, can join in the jam by linking up with my Facebook page.”
The Sunday jam sessions are a means to an end for Jasie, who hopes to eventually organise a big event to say thank you to the NHS.
“If we get enough musicians and entertainers involved in the jam sessions then we would like to put on a free show somewhere when the coronavirus is all over and raise money for the NHS.
“It’s just a way to give something back to them because they are doing such a great job, risking their lives to help people every day.”
Jasie knows this first hand because she spent a few days in hospital last week.
“I was in from Tuesday to Saturday with a kidney complaint and I had a high temperature so they thought it might be coronavirus. I was moved out of the red zone in the hospital into the yellow zone when they found it it wasn’t coronavirus.
“The job those people do in there is fantastic – I can’t thank them enough.”
