Falkirk’s rugby and basketball clubs, were big winners over the weekend, as were Grangemouth Stags.
On Friday night, Clark Eriksson Fury eased to victory over Glasgow University to seal progression in the Scottish Cup at The Mariner. John Bunyan’s side won 67-50.
In rugby, Falkirk won at CALA Park, Sunnyside, defeating Cartha-Queen’s Park from Glasgow.
Gordon McGuire was given the player of the month award for August/September and it was marked by a 43-21 victory.
Grangemouth Stags did likewise by recording a 44-10 win against Alloa.
In football there was a win, loss and draw for the senior sides.
Gary Holt’s Falkirk side grabbed a late point with an injury time equaliser at Raith Rovers. East Stirlingshire defeated Berwick Rangers at Ochilview through Michael Bolochoweckyj’s early header.
Stenhousemuir though were defeated 8-0 at Ibrox by league leaders, Rangers.
In the juniors Camelon drew 1-1 with Broxburn, Falkirk Juniors and Kirkcaldy drew 3-3 in the Emirates Scottish Cup.
