SCOTLAND schoolboy international James Stevenson from Carronshore is making waves across the Atlantic.
The former Alloa footballer, and St Mungo’s High school pupil, has been named in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Great Lakes region team.
It’s recognition for his exploits as a striker for Northern Illinois University’s Huskies football team - or soccer as it’s known across the Atlantic.
Stevenson led the Huskies with six goals, including three
match-winners, and finished the season tied for third in the MAC in goals, helping him garner All-MAC First Team honours when he represented the local league his side plays in.
In Scotland, 6ft 2in Stevenson helped St Mungo’s to the Scottish cup final in his final year scoring 39 goals and laying on ten before securing a scholarship to the university where he’s in his sophomore
year studying communi- cations.
