Stenhousemuir are flying in Prestwick win

Stenhousemuir resumed their league campaign in the West 1st Division with a comfortable win over Prestwick at the Tryst last Saturday.

They bowled out Prestwick for 98 and knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets.

After Amir Shahzad had Keith Lawler caught by Rushdi Jappie for 14, it was pretty much a procession. No batsman managed to reach double figures until last man John Stafford hit a brisk 26, adding 28 for the last wicket. He was bowled by Shahzad Rafiq to leave Prestwick 98 all out. Rushdi Jappie took three wickets, Yasser Arfat and Shahzad Rafiq two each and Amir Shahzad, one. There was one run out and only 10 batted.

Stenhousemuir quickly lost Tim Doonan for one and Shahzad Rafiq for four but an unbroken partnership of 83 for the third wicket between Amir Shahzad, 29 not out, and Rushdi Jappie, 52 not out saw ‘Muir home by eight wickets.

The 2nd XI lost to 2nd Prestwick by 10 wickets. They were all out for 149, With Peter Moses making 58, Stuart Williamson 26 and Srikanth Lashkhminarayan 19. Prestwick reached the winning total of 150 without losing a wicket

On Saturday, Stenhousemuir are away to Poloc and the 2nd XI fixture is at the Tryst
