John Coughlin has been named as new manager of East Stirlingshire
Coughlin makes a return to Ochilview - where Shire are tenants just five months after resigning as manager of Stenhousemuir FC.
In a statement to the club’s website, chairman Les Thomson said: “John is an excellent coach who has proven himself in the Third Division and has winners medals to prove it.
“To attract such a prominent figure from the world of football management is a significant coup for the club. John has been left in no doubt that there real challenges ahead for this club, but he has not seemed put out by them and that has really impressed us,”
Coughlin had admitted he was in the market for a return to football when Alloa parted company with Allan Maitland. Coughlin had been assistant manager there to Tom Hendrie, and has been manager at St Mirren, Berwick Rangers and Stenhousemuir, before the Shire.
