The race – on Sunday, April 10 – will mark the 50th year of the run around Grangemouth’s streets. And as usual the race culminates on the track – once used by Usain Bolt – at Grangemouth Stadium.

The staging of the Round the Houses will also incorporate the 11th Jim Dingwall Memorial race, and a 2k fun run has also been organised, open to all runners of all abilities.

But the numbers of the 10K road race look set to top recent entries, and will include many of the top athletes from Scotland.

Among them will be Ryan Beattie who finished third in the event last year running for the co-organisers, Falkirk Victoria Harriers.

Beattie recently competed in the Alloa half-marathon with his pro-boxer brother Stevie – and the fighter finished ahead of his brother!

The races are jointly organised by FVH and Falkirk Community Trust and will be started by Provost Pat Reid.
