Glenbervie in Portuguese action

Glenbervie golf club finished 16th out of 24 teams while representing Scotland the European Men’s Club Trophy 2013.

It had been a difficult few days for the team which at a combined 302, 14-over par. The first day of golf was cancelled due to weather conditions at Aroeira Golf Club.

But a positive start from Fraser Moore followed as he finished one-over in the first round. He followed that with a four-over second round.

Colin Mundie is +12 for the championship, and Mark Hislop five shots further back.

They were joined for the first round by golfers from County Sligo in Ireland and RReal Gold Pedrena in Spain.

For round two of the strokeplay championship they were each paired with a player from the Royal Antwerp club in Belgium.

Top spot went to C.G. Vilamoura from the host country.

The Glenbervie trio gained the honour of representing Scotland by winning the TSG Scottish Club Championship. They held their nerve to edge the title by one shot at Luftness last month.
