Vaulks back for the Bairns

Falkirk will welcome back Will Vaulks for the visit of Alloa in the first match of 2015.

The defensive midfielder was a big miss having sat out the 1-0 home defeat to Raith Rovers through suspension.

An accumulation of bookings saw Vaulks given extended leave on his native Wirral over Christmas but he’s back in the frame for the visit of the Wasps.

How long he remains in a Falkirk shirt though, is open to speculation as stories have surfaced linking the Englishman with a move south to Norwich City.

Also in contention is the bandaged up Peter Grant, who refuses to be kept out by a head clash in training with Rory Loy, and Joe Shaughnessy who will be involved in his last match with Falkirk before returning to Aberdeen at the conclusion of his loan deal.

And with some frantic Bairns activity in the transfer market this week, a new addition or two may also be added to the matchday squad in time for the visit of Barry Smith’s Petrofac Cup finalists.
