Stenhousemuir kick off hectic spell of games with trip to Annan

The Warriors head south to face Annan on Satuirday in what will be the first of five games in 15 days for the Ochilview outfit.

It will be familiar journey for Ferguson who travelled down to Galabank on Tuesday to watch Annan play Peterhead, whom Stenny also face away a week on Saturday - with a home game against Cowdenbeath next Tuesday sandwiched in between.

The following Tuesday Stenhousemuir are away on their travels again, to Berwick, before they welcome Clyde to Ochilview on March 10. It’s a busy schedule, but one Ferguson hopes won’t stretch squad resources too far.

Ferguson said: “We’ve got a fairly strong squad and are going into these five games in reasonable shape for this time of the season.

“There’s a chance that most of the players within the group will need to be used throughout this spell, but you can never really tell how it will be.

“We’ve got a young, fit group. Very few of them have carried knocks this season.

“We’ve got a squad capable of dealing with a couple of injuries but we’ll need to see if we need to worry about that or if it’s just tactical changes we need.

But it’s a game-by-game approach, starting with a match against an Annan side who came from 2-0 and 3-1 down to earn a draw against Peterhead.

Ferguson said: “It was a good result for them. They’ve had a wee bit of sticky spell lately but you can’t question their attitude or their workrate.

“They put an awful lot into their games and we’ve got to be ready to deal with that.”
