Scott Booth will keep his stuttering Stenhousemuir side ticking over during a two-week break from competitive action.
The Warriors’ exit from the Scottish Cup to Brechin has created a blank Saturday in the fixture list this weekend but Booth is assessing the options to keep the squad momentum going into the clash with high-flying Forfar.
Any time the Ochilview side have won and looked to have turned a corner in form, they are hit with a sucker punch similar to Saturday where Stenhousemuir went to Greenock on a high after a stunning home display against Dunfermline, but failed to live up to expectations.
The manager said: “I’m gutted but we need consistency.
“After [the dunfermline game] we kept the same team and were playing a similar team, but inconsistency is costing us.”
He added: “We’re looking at the situation [this weekend] at the moment and will be working out a balance between the nexty two weeks to maintain the rhythm of the players and keep their momentum going, so that we are ready for the Forfar game.”
