Stenhousemuir’s search for their first points of the season continues on Saturday when they welcome Airdrie to Ochilview.
Warriors went down 2-1 when the sides met in the Betfred Cup last month but manager Brown Ferguson believes his side showed enough that day to overturn that result.
However he admits Stenny will need an improvement from Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Livingston when his side weren’t helped by conceding at crucial times - at the start of each half and midway through the first period.
He said: “I don’t know whether it was a consequence of playing a full-time Rangers team on the Wednesday night but we were leggy and sluggish.
“They are playing well and we beaten by a better team but losing a goal so early gave them confidence and took it from us.
“We’ll speak about how we approach the Airdrie match, but whether we go for the jugular or try to contain them early on, we have to make sure we are switched on from the start.
Ferguson has strengthened his options up from by bringing in youngsters Ally Roy and Oliver Shaw, on loan until January from Hearts and Hibs respectively.
However he is still looking to add some backline experience before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
