Scott Booth will not rush in making new signings during the January transfer window and is happy to wait for the right players to become available.

The Stenhousemuir manager is eager to strengthen his squad following the return of loan signings Gary Oliver and Tom Walsh to their parent clubs and has identified several potential new recruits.

While he would not be drawn on their identities, Booth said that work was on-going behind the scenes at Ochilview and that he was confident progress could soon be made.

More loan signings are being considered but other deals are also on the table.

“We are not going to narrow our options, we just want the best players that are available,” said Booth. “We are not going to rush the process, it’s about strengthening the team in the areas that we have identified.

“Other clubs are now beginning to address their squads, and in some cases you have to wait to see what they decide.”

Stenhousemuir travel to Station Park on Saturday to take on a Forfar side who have been knocked off top spot in recent weeks but who nonetheless provide one of League One’s strongest tests.

“Against Stirling, our heads went down after we conceded and we didn’t stick to our game plan,” said Booth. “That’s something we need to address.

“Forfar are a strong side and are still among the title favourites, we know a big performance is required.”

The Warriors have a full squad for the game.
