Stenhousemuir boss Martyn Corrigan will have Bryan Hodge and David Rowson back in contention for Saturday’s trip to Dunfermline - but that hasn’t stopped him lamenting his side’s injury misfortune.
Hodge limped out of the Rangers Ramsdens Cup semi-final defeat with a groin strain but will be back for the trip to Fife.
“We never seem to get a run where we’re all fully fit,” he rued. “And when the injuries come they come in waves there’s not just one wee knock.
“It is good to have the two midfield players back and they bring a bit of experience with them too ahead of a couple of big games for us.
“We have a good squad when they’re all available - but that hasn’t been the case this season, or last for that matter.”
Further bittersweet injury news was received on Tuesday when the Ochilview chief learned of Scot Buist’s knee operation.
“It was a success,” said Corrigan. “That’s the second of three operations he must undergo and it was successful which is always a step in the right direction. But we must remember it is a long process. After the next operation he still has another year to go.”
