The Warriors will follow the SPFL directive to avoid shaking hands in the pre-match rituals, and post-match. Some clubs have been touching elbows instead, and players will be reminded of the instructions when they arrive for this weekend's game in Ladbrokes League Two.

But supporters attending Ochilview for tomorrow's match with Queen's Park may also notice several changes in light of the Covid-19 spread, which has reached the Forth Valley.

The club has brought in extra supplies of alcohol based soaps for all toilet facilities at Ochilview and in particular for 'high-traffic areas' like the dressing rooms and hospitality areas.

Chairman Iain McMenemy said: "Catering and bar staff will be receiving a ‘tool box talk’ on good practice and are all being asked to increase regular hand washing. We have replaced posters around the club with public health advisory posters on hand washing."

Players will also use plastic disposable bottles for fluid intake, and not the regular reusable containers the club would usually use, for fear of cross-contamination or players inadvertently sharing bottles.

Chief executive Jamie Swinney added: "From a plastic waste perspective this is not what we would want however given the current situation it is the most sensible approach to avoid players drinking from the same bottle."

Stenhousemuir host Queen's Park on Ray McKinnon's first visit back to Ochilview as a manager since his Falkirk side were knocked out of the Scottish Cup there in 2018.

The Scottish Football Association and SPFL have joined together in a response group to deal with issues raised in the domestic game through the spread of the virus.
