The Loons put in a transfer bid for the 28-year old defender and personal terms were agreed on Monday allowing him to return to Station Park.

Stenny also confirmed they had rejected two previous bids for their captain before Forfar, managed by former Warriors defender Stuart Malcolm, met their asking price.

Munro joined the Warriors in January 2019 and made his debut away to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup where he helped them secure a memorable 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.

He was later appointed captain by then Manager Colin McMenamin and went on to make 61 appearances for the club scoring six goals during his spell.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Munro said: “Stenhousemuir has been a great club for me.

"When Colin and the club gave me the chance to join it came at a time when I was not enjoying my football as much as I had previously.
