Montrose won their opener 3-1 at Edinburgh City and Warriors boss Brown Ferguson, as ever, is expecting a tough match.

He said: “They’ve got players who can hurt you and got a very good win at the weekend.

“Every game is going to be difficult. Montrose have aspirations to do well this year and we’ve got to recognise that we’re a target for teams as well.”

Ferguson admitted his side were architects of their own downfall against Stirling.

He said: “There were a number of things to be pleased about and a number of things to be very disappointed with.

“We created really good chances at key times in the game and just didn’t take them.

“There were three or four occasions where we should have been two goals clear and that would put a totally different spin on the game.

“But it’s disappointing when you are on top of a game twice not to go and get the three points and as team we need to be more ruthless, both in attack and defence.”

The Stenhousemuir boss expects to have a full squad to choose from with midfielder Martin Scott likely to be fit after a calf injury.
