Positive Covid-19 tests at Kilmarnock one week before Falkirk clash

Kilmarnock FC, who are due to face Falkirk in the Betfred Cup next week, have released a statement confirming that three individuls have tested positive for Covid-19.

The statement, released via the club’s website, said: “ Kilmarnock FC can confirm that three individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.

"All three individuals are currently observing a period of self-isolation in line with Scottish Government and Joint Response Group (JRG) protocols and will be the subject of NHS testing today (Wednesday, September 30).

"Further scheduled testing for players and staff will be carried out on Thursday (October 1).”

Killie are scheduled to face Falkirk on Tuesday, October 6, in the first of their Betfred Scottish League cup matches at the Falkirk Stadium.

With Kilmarnock being a premiership team it will mean that the Falkirk FC staff and players will also be subject to testing prior to the match.
