Partick win a corner and take it short to Bannigan at the edge of the box who floats it in to the back post where Sammon clears but only as far as James Penrice who hits a low drive through the crowded penalty area but Mutch gets down well to hold it.

The Jags are testing the Falkirk defence with balls in to the box which they’ve so far dealt with but the space they are getting in the wide areas is a concern.

James Penrice has another go from distance, shooting beyond the strikers in front of him and it looked easy enough for Mutch but he could only palm it away from goal and nearly in to the path of Brian Graham but Falkirk were able to clear.

Shortly after Tiffoney had a go but this one was held by Mutch.

It’s the same team that played Cove five days ago but a different formation for the Bairns.

Instead of a 4-4-1-1 with Fotheringham sitting behind Sammon it’s a 4-4-2 with Morrison up front alongside the Irishman and Fotheringham is wide right.

Zak Rudden heads in Ryan Williamson’s cross at six yards.

He’s in space and heads it down in to the corner, Mutch has no chance.

There was no holding back in the celebrations either for the former Bairn who was delighted

Falkirk clear a ball in to the area but it’s only as far as Scott Tiffoney who blasts it home from just inside the box.

Desperate stuff from Falkirk as Blair Alston has a go from all of 25 yards but it’s well, well off target.

With there first chance since scoring the second, the hosts have a third.

Brian Graham has a shot from 20 yards and it’s well struck but Mutch looked to have it covered... he didn’t.

The big striker blasts it across goal and Mutch looked to have got a finger tip to it but couldn’t keep it out of that far side.
