Although supporters aren’t able to return to the Falkirk Stadium at this time they can still head to the Melville Street establishment to get their lips around a new beverage supporting Falkirk legend Kevin McAllister.

McAllister IPA, which has been commissioned by BTW from the Larbert based Brewery, will be on sale at the bar from this weekend and £1 from each pint sold will go towards the Crunchie Initiative which aims to rebrand the South Stand at the Falkirk Stadium as the Kevin McAllister Stand.

Dave McInally, founder of the Crunchie Initiative said: “Stuart Brown, a member of our committee, used to work at BTW and it was his idea to try and commission the IPA.

“We’ve been selling prints, T-shirts and doing raffles and this is just one of the latest fundraisers we are doing as part of the initiative.

“Since the pandemic hit we’ve had to think a bit outside the box on how to raise money and do that without affecting the club’s income.

“Doing things this way takes a bit longer but sales of the T-shirts and prints have helped us get to a good point - we’ve got more to do to reach the goal and having support from local businesses like BTW really helps.”

Brian Flynn, owner of Behind The Wall, added: “As a fan and a local business who has been involved with sponsoring the club the initiative seemed like something we wanted to be involved in.

“I know Kevin very well, he’s a good friend and a Falkirk great, I was on his testimonial committee.

“Lots of clubs name stands after great players and managers so I think this is a great idea and I was keen to get involved and do something to help.”

Another supporter of the initiative is former Bairns boss Alex Totten who signed McAllister to the club.

He said: “I was a manager for 22 years and Kevin McAllister is the best signing I ever made.

“He fully deserves this, he was a great signing and is a great lad- he’s Falkirk through and through.

“The fans will be right behind it because they loved watching him play and it’s tremendous what Dave and the rest of the lads are doing here.”
