The Bairns were very slow to start on Saturday and were punished for a mundane first half by Chris Higgins’ header for the visitors just before half-time.

But Falkirk were much improved in the second half and the Doonhamers barely got a look in as a revved-up Bairns side took the game to them and scored three second half goals to close the gap on second placed Hibs.

Goals from John Baird, an Andy Dowie og and Blair Aslton handed Falkirk the win.
