The ex-Arbroath centre-half has shown his versatility in recent weeks, playing alongside Stephen McGinn in the latest home wins over Clyde and Montrose.

On his positional move, he said: “The gaffer mentioned to me a while back that he wanted to see what I was like in the centre of the park and I was more than happy to do that. It has been working in the last couple of games.

“I have some freedom in there too and it is great being alongside Stephen (McGinn) because we have a decent understanding.

“We know when one sits the other stays and we have that down to a tee. With the quality we have up top, we can afford to sit back and just let them get on with it.”

And on Saturday’s 4-0 victory over the Bully Wee, Henderson added: “We had to roll our sleeves up at times and dig it out. In the second half we played against the wind but still managed to play some decent stuff. You need that dogged-type of performance sometimes and we are showing that we can do that too.”
