Now the Irish hitman will go in to his third derby match this time wearing the dark blue of the Bairns and says he can’t wait to be back playing.

The 21-year old told the Falkirk Herald that, after the news of Kilmarnock’s forrfit and them being awarded the 3-0 victory, attention immediately turned to this Friday’s match.

He said: “It’s a good start but nobody wants to get the points that way, we wanted to play the game and earn them.

"We were preparing for the match right up till we got the news on Monday then we just had to forget about it straight away and focus on the Dunfermline game.

"Being a derby it’s something to really look forward to.

"I played in two for Dunfermline and know what the match is about so looking forward to going in to it with Falkirk.”

Keena spent one season at East End Park in 2018/19 on loan from Hearts where he netted four league goals in 12 appearances.

Normally, a former player turning out for a club’s fiercest rivals might have seen them come in for some stick from the home fans but that won’t be the case this Friday with the match, like all others across the country, being played behind closed doors.

"I would have looked forward to playing in front of the Dunfermline fans again, the stick doesn’t really bother me – I find it kind of funny.

“Obviously we would rather have fans there for the atmosphere but I don't think, in terms of the action, it will hinder it.”

Keena has been with the Bairns for over two months now and says he has enjoyed his start to life at the Falkirk Stadium after a strong pre-season.

"It's kind of a different angle going from being a Hearts as a fringe player then going to Hartlepool and now being a key player here.

"Now I want to play every week and score as much as I can.”
