In pictures: Rugby stars put on a show as Falkirk High come out on top of Schools Cup

Our photographer captured the best of the action on Wednesday afternoon as Falkirk High came out on top of the men’s under-16s Falkirk Schools Cup.

The competition took place at Grangemouth Stags’ Glensburgh with Falkirk High, Denny High, Braes High and Larbert High facing off against each other.

Part of the initiative is to enable schools pupils to join the Kelpies youth-set which is run in conjunction with a number of Falkirk-district rugby sides.

From this, the goal is to see local teens move into the first team squads within the Midlands league system.

On the day, over 90 pupils took part with Falkirk High coming out on top – defeating Denny High 34-29 who finished second.

Meanwhile, Braes High came third after beating Larbert High 31-17.
