And Houston has pledged honesty when he takes the floor this evening, after telling a few home truths to his players this week.

“I don’t tell any lies. I’ll tell no lies and tell the truth because I am responsible for it,” he insisted.

“But what I’ll also do is get my pound of flesh and I want it every single Saturday.

“On Saturday I felt too many said “It wasn’t my fault”. I’ll go to the fans forum and won’t make excuses. Be honest with yourselves, that’s what I tell the players.

“I hope they play well on a Saturday – I can’t demand it.

That attitude saw the boss cancel yesterday’s usual day off, and the players subjected to a running session on Tuesday.

“Days off are cancelled until we get things right. That’s because in the three years I have been here Saturday was the worst performance,” the boss pledged
