Falkirk Stadium’s South and West Stands were both packed with Bairns supporters for Friday’s semi-final, and it’s sold-out again for tonight’s Final first leg.

Usually the Bairns would allocate a section of the main viewing area to away supporters, but Hibs were limited to the north end of Westfield, and Houston said it made a difference to the crackling atmosphere.

“We had two stands full for the first time this season. We kept the two stands open for just Falkirk fans,” said Houston.

“After the 2-2 draw we had to get the fans on side. If we sat off Hibs and allowed them to press and probe, I think our fans would have got edgy.

“We had to get out, get behind them and win a few corners, and it so happened we got the goal from that and the efforts from the 20 minutes got the fans right behind us.”

Houston is keen on having a go again, this time at the Premiership side.
