Midfielder Gary Miller will be the Bairns’ captain for season 2020-21.

The 32-year-old penned a two-year extension to his present agreement the first of seven players who had to negotiate new deals to stay at the club.

Miller was stand-in captain last term and recorded a 6-0 victory over Forfar as well as 1-1 draw at Raith Rovers and 3-0 win over Peterhead after leading the team out.

He told Falkirk TV: “The plan is to go up this season, that’s what we were hoping for last season b ut it didn’t turn out that way, by a point so we will certainly be looking to set our stall out.”

Miller becomes the eighth player in the Falkirk squad signed up for the new term.

Charlie Telfer, Mark Durnan, Ben Hall, Paul Dixon and Aidan Connolly were all, like Miller, given short-term extensions to the end of this month and form part of the management team’s plans for next season.
