Former Falkirk and Raith Rovers manager John Hughes takes charge at Ross County

Yogi is back in the dugout for the first time since leaving Raith Rovers in 2017

The 56-year old has been out of work since departing Stark’s Park in 2017, a short spell which saw Rovers relegated to League 1 after play-off defeat to Brechin City.

He is more fondly remembered at The Falkirk Stadium however, spending six years in charge between 2006 to 2009 after two spells as a player.

As well as maintaining their SPL status for four seasons, Hughes led The Bairns to the 2009 Scottish Cup Final before departing to take over at Hibs.

After things didn’t work out at Easter Road he worked at Livingston and Hartlepool United before landing at Inverness CT in 2013.

His time with the Jags is most remembered for guiding them to the 2015 Scottish Cup where they beat Falkirk in the final.

His task now, after replacing the outgoing Stuart Kettlewell at Ross County is to guide the Staggies safely away from the Premiership relegation zone.

He has a tough start to life back in the dugout though as County are away to Scottish Cup winners Celtic on Wednesday evening.

They then have two more matches before the new year, at home to St Johnstone and away to Livingston.
