Falkirk heavy favourites

Falkirk start the game as 4/9 favourites with Scottish bookmaker McBookie.com

Hosts Forfar are 6/1 while the draw is 10/3.

Aidan Keena and Anton Dowds are joint favourites in the first goalscorer betting at 7/2 while top scorer Callumn Morrison is 5/1.

It was a 1-1 draw at the Falkirk stadium back in October.

Anton Dowds opened the scoring in the first half but Robbie Mutch earner a petulant red card before the Loons equalised through Jordan Allan in the second half.

Falkirk v Forfar

We’ve arrived at Station Park however, due to Covid restrictions cannot actually enter the ground until 2:30pm.

Until then, we have the team lines coming now!

Falkirk starting XI

Attacking line up for Bairns

It looks like a very attacking line up for the visitors with Morrison, Fotheringham and Keena starting.

It looks like a 4-3-3 with thos players up front or maybe a 4-2-3-1 with Charlie Telfer behind Keena and Morrison and Fotheringham out wide.

Whatever they go with, there are a lot of forward thinking options in this team who will look to get at Forfar early on with the Loons know for being a difficult side to break down.

For the hosts it’s: 1 M McCallum, 2 R Nditi, 3 B Coll, 4 R Meechan, 5 A Munro, 6 G Irvine, 7 M MacKintosh, G Holmes, 9 S Fenwick, 10 M Scott, 11 C Coope.

Subs: 12 H Watson, 14 K Dalling, 15 G Anderson, 16 D Scally, 17 C Antoniazzi, 18 S Shepherd, 19 J Allan, 20 J Nrothcroff and 21 D Hoban

We’re underway at Station Park!

10 mins: No early chances

As predicted the home side are defending in numbers and marking tight.

The Bairns have had a good few balls in to the ox from out wide but nothing that hasn’t been dealt with comfortably enough.

Forfar look to break with the long ball out to the two strikers when they can.

11 mins: first sight of goal for Falkirk

Falkirk break up the pitch with Morrison who slides a through ball to Keena but he drags his shot across the face of goal from inside the area.

14mins: First corner goes to Falkirk

Kai Fotheringham wins a corner driving at the defence from out wide.

Alston whips it in but it’s headed clear by Forfar captain Gary Irvine.

18 mins: Alston head wide

Aidan Keena makes space for himself out on the right channel and clips a ball in where Alston arrives late with a strong header but it’s wide under pressure from the defence.

25mins: GOOOALLLL FALKIRK - TELFER!

Charlie Telfer with a speculative dipping strike from 25 yards catches the usually reliable McCallum out at his near post as he gets a hand to it but can prevent it creeping in.

A good striker but the keeper should probably have done better.
