Falkirk's Myles better and believes after Rangers victory

The town, and the country is beginning to believe the Bairns are capable of seeing off Hibs’ challenge and taking second place in the Chmapionship after toppling league leaders for a second time this term.

And the reaction to manager Peter Houston has been enthusiastic to say the least.

The boss said: “All the feedback I’ve had from the supporters is about that game, but they’re seeing a team which has only lost three times this season and that has them thinking ‘maybe there is a chance’ – it might have taken them a while for them to believe it, but there is a chance, a slight chance, we can do it.”

He added: “When I took over here I said I’d love to take the team back to the Premiership, but this season we wanted the play-offs after missing out last season. We’ve achieved that now but can’t rest on our laurels. I’d be disappointed to beat Rangers then lose at home to Livingston – that’s our focus now, Livingston and the next game.”

The fans turned out in record-breaking number on Friday night to see Bob McHugh score an injury time winner and Houston added: “There’s nothing better than playing infront of a Premier crowd. I’d like to bring those busy, full away ends back at Falkirk football club.

“If that means giving half the capacity to away fans, at least it’s a big crowd – and half went home happy on Friday.”
