Rangers starlet Cole McKinnon could be Falkirk boss John McGlynn’s first loan signing of the summer, with reports linking the midfielder to the Bairns this week.

The 19-year-old notched a goal on the final day of the Premiership league campaign against Hearts, and the Gers hierarchy are keen to see the highly-rated youngster go out on loan.

Previously, McKinnon spent time on loan at East Fife playing ten times for the Methil side under Darren Young.

He has also made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League and is wanted by a host of Championship and League 1 clubs.

McGlynn has excelled in the loan market before, bringing in the likes of Jamie Gullan at Raith Rovers.

Ex-Southampton youngster Benni Smales-Braithwaite could also be on the way to Falkirk, with the striker another potential target.

One player that won’t be joining the Bairns on loan this season is Jaze Kabia.

The Irishman who joined last campaign on loan from Livingston is heading to Greenock Morton, according to the West Lothian Courier.

Injuries plagued his time at the club, and although he scored twice on his debut against East Fife – he never quite got going under Martin Rennie.

The 21-year-old scored four times in 12 appearances for Falkirk.

Lions boss David Martindale confirmed the move saying: “Jaze should be a deal that gets done at some point this week. He went out on loan at Falkirk and did really well at the start but got a couple of niggling injuries.”
