Falkirk are searching for a new manager after Steven Pressley signed a three-and-a-half year deal with his former club Coventry City.
As this week’s edition of The Falkirk Herald revealed, Pressley travelled to the Midlands late on Wednesday afternoon.
A deal was struck that evening between both parties and compensation was agreed with Falkirk yesterday afternoon.
He was announced as the new Sky Blues manager shortly before 11 a.m. this morning (Friday).
Neil Macfarlane will make the move with the Bairns boss, leaving Alex Smith, Stevie Crawford and Robbie Neilson in charge of the Bairns for this weekend’s match at Morton.
Pressley will make his first appearance as League One manager at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
Coventry City development director Steve Waggott said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Steven Pressley to Coventry City as our new manager.
“He’s a hungry and highly ambitious young manager and we have all been very impressed with him and his record so far.
“We wanted someone to come in and hit the ground running because we have 10 very important games left this season, but we also wanted someone to take us forward and prioritise youth development and the club’s role in the community.
“Steven ticked every single box and I know everyone at Coventry City - from supporters to staf - will get right behind him.”
More from Coventry and Falkirk will follow later today at www.falkirkherald.co.uk.
