Pressley’s summer plans are taking shape

Steven Pressley has identified five key positions to be filled during the close season and his plans are taking shape.

He achieved one of his five objectives in grabbing Michael McGovern last week - as exclusively revealed in The Falkirk Herald.

The next reinforcement, on the wing, is closer to being confirmed as the Bairns eye a move for Andy Haworth.

The 23-year-old is on Bury’s release list and The Falkirk Herald understands talks are advancing towards making him a Bairn.

Other targets will fill gaps created by the departures of Murray Wallace and Farid El Alagui - and Pressley is also open to allowing estranged winger Jack Compton to leave.

The winger spent last season on loan at Bradford and St Johnstone but has another year left on his contract after signing an extension in November 2010.
