The Bairns meet Clyde and Raith Rovers – two sides they have failed to beat so far this season – before hosting Peterhead at The Falkirk Stadium next weekend.

By then the Bairns could be top of the league, but to be so they’ll have to register wins over at least one of the sides who have had the upper hand against them so far this season.

And while McCracken is, as is to be expected, aiming for maximum points, he’s not writing the season off – or on – based on seven days of football.

He said: “It’s a big week –I wouldn’t go as far as to say season defining but it’ll certainly help get us to where we want to be. We have Clyde then Raith and then we’re back at home again which leads us into the last section of the season. The boys are looking forward to it and these are games they want to be involved in.

“We are not getting too ahead of ourselves and we never have since we came in. But we’ll be looking for three points.”

Clyde have registered two 1-0 wins over the Bairns so far this season and Falkirk will be missing the suspended Declan McManus for Saturday’s game.

“We have spoken about how to address the results against Clyde, East Fife, Raith Rovers. We spoke about it before the East Fife game recently too. But we know we are in a different place than we were in the first half of the season.

“This is a chance to go for a title, and we have expressed that to them - not a lot of people have the opportunity to win a title in their careers so it is something we are working hard towards and will be looking to win as many games as we can to get us there.”
