Falkirk moved quickly to get over the disappointment of losing Rory Loy to Dundee by snapping up his strike partner John Baird on an extended contract.
The striker was signed in January on a short-term deal from Queen of the South but has established himself in the Falkirk attack.
That has prompted the Bairns to extend Baird’s contract till the end of season 2015/16.
The option of a further year is also contained within the deal which Baird signed this morning.
Peter Houston said: “John has already proved to be a handful for opposing defenders in the short time he has been here. He is happy at Falkirk and the logical step was to extend his contract which we are pleased to have done.”
“He’s a proven goalscorer so it’s a good bit of business for us.”
The Bairns yesterday learned that Baird’s fellow striker, Rory Loy, had agreed a switch to Dundee in the summer.
