Hartley's last game in charge was brutal viewing for the 4,000 supporters at The Falkirk Stadium, who witnessed Queen of the South rack up 27 shots with just three in reply.

Stephen Dobbie's hat-trick also means that the 35-year-old has now scored 13 in eight appearances against the Bairns.

Bairns fans struggled to forget what has been described by many as the worst Falkirk performance they have seen in years, but what are the numbers behind Paul Hartley's reign?

0 from 9

Appointed on October 4, 2017, Hartley won none of his first nine games in charge of the Bairns - with his side scoring just three times.

16 the key

In the end, the former Celtic midfielder won 16 of 40 games in charge, losing the same amount. Eight of those wins were at The Falkirk Stadium, with eight coming on the road.

16 is the key number for Hartley, that's also how many new players he signed this summer - some of whom are still waiting to make their first Championship appearance.

51 goals

The symmetry continues on the goal front - incredibly. In 40 matches, Hartley's Bairns racked up 51 goals, conceding the exact same amount.

Comparison

Very importantly - how does Hartley shape up against Falkirk's other Championship managers?

Since relegation, he has the poorest win percentage of any Bairns boss at 40% - lower than Steven Pressley (42%), Peter Houston (47%) and Gary Holt (48%).

Interestingly, his win percentage is just the same as John Hughes', now a candidate to replace Hartley, who managed in the top flight.

To end with, happier times. Hartley's Bairns beat Dundee United 6-1 at The Falkirk Stadium in what was the home debut for new signings Tommy Robson and Andrew Nelson.

The biggest defeats came at Ibrox and Inverness, both 4-1, and the 3-0 home defeat against Queen of the South which ended his reign.
