Gary Holt has added Phil Roberts to his squad for tomorrow’s Ramdsens Cup clash with Clyde.

The Bairns head coach knows the stirker from his time at Norwich City, and Roberts has will again work with Holt at The Falkirk Stadium.

He was a trialist on Saturday in the 2-2 draw with Dunfermline where he scored with his back. Roberts was then in the stand for the Stirlingshire Cup final on Tuesday when Falkirk lost 3-2 in Dumbarton.

Clearance for Roberts’ two-year deal was received today. The forward was a free agent after his deal with Arsenal expired.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he scored one goal - against Dundee United - in 17 games.

He most recently spent time on trial with Wycombe Wanderers - another of Gary Holt’s former clubs - before heading north to join the Bairns.

Roberts is Gary Holt’s third recruitment of the summer, after signing Scott Olumide Durojaiye and assistant Dale Brooks.
