Falkirk fans have the chance to have their say on the latest representative group within the football club.

After several past attempts failed to make much ground after the fans’ director was removed from the board last year the club hope the latest ‘Falkirk Fans’ will better forge the link between the boardroom and the support

The group will re-establish the channel and meet with selected directors and managers at least three times per year to open communication on issues of importance to the Falkirk following.

A draft constitution will be proposed at an open meeting for all interested fans on Monday, August 3, in the Falkirk Stadium.

The constitution, seen by The Falkirk Herald, states the fans’ group will consist of one member from six ‘constituencies’ including representatives of season ticket holders, organised supporters clubs, shareholders, supporters overseas and and unaffiliated supporters who do not fall into any other category.

A previous incarnation of the group, also known as Falkirk Fans, was proposed by the Falkirk Supporters Society and a paid-up member of that group will also be included in the new group’s make-up.

More details will be discussed at the meeting next week.

Team manager Peter Houston will also be on hand to address fans’ football-related questions.

The meeting, postponed from a date this week, will go ahead on Monday at 7 p.m.
