Martin Ritchie is again looking for a new manager as Gary Holt leaves Falkirk for a return to Norwich City.

The Bairns chairman has confirmed the news broken by The Falkirk Herald earlier today that the boss was in Norwich for talks with the Canaries and added that a deal has now been sealed.

Chairman Ritchie told www.falkirkfc.co.uk: “The Club fully understands Gary’s wishes to return with his family to Norwich. We would like to wish him every success in the future and to thank him for all his work at Falkirk over the last year.”

Time is now ticking for the Bairns to sign a new man in time for pre-season which starts in four weeks.

However, The Falkirk Herald understands the process will not take as long as the thorough recruitment procedure used to decide upon Holt as the new manager in March 2013 following Steven Pressley’s move to Coventry.

Club sources have indicated a move for a new manager will happen sooner rather than later in order to give them as much time to maximise preparations before June 26.

Bairns fans who learned of Holt’s departure via @falkirkheraldsp on Twitter have already begun suggesting names they’d welcome including Danny Lennon, Peter Houston and Gary Bollan. Tweet your suggestion to @FalkirkHeraldSp or comment on Facebook.
